Resetting a User Password

Logic - The user password controls the phones access to call logs and the enterprise directory along with access to the Call Center Supervisor Portal, Enterprise Receptionist Portal and UC-One Communicator or Business Communicator applications. If you receive an error on your phone where you are unable to access your call logs or your enterprise directory or get an error saying you are locked out of the Call Center Supervisor Portal or Enterprise Receptionist Portal or get an error saying incorrect password when attempting to log into the UC-One communicator or Business Communicator software the solution is to reset the user level password.

Step 1: Log into an administrator account and locate the user account and select it

Step 2: Select the "Passwords" menu option

Step 3: Type in a new "Web Access Password" and confirm the new password then select "OK". Even if the password has not expired, this is the most likely cause of the issue and the first step in troubleshooting as the passwords can get locked out also.

Set web access password: This password is used for UC-One Communicator/Call Center Agents and Supervisors/Receptionist Consoles and Business Communicator Applications. This must be letters and numbers with a minimum of 8 characters

Set portal password: This password is used for the "Hoteling" feature only. This is numbers only and must be at least 4 numbers and no more than 10. It cannot be equal to your extension.

Step 5: This is only necessary for the Call log or Enterprise Directory issues, rebuild the device configuration files using the instructions here, when completed have the user reboot their device.
